Timeline of success
1921
Armand DIRICKX,
from Belgium, sets up DIRICKX-TRIQUE (Trique was his wife's maiden name).
The first fences and spikes are manufactured in a 30m² workshop in Congrier, Mayenne.
1939
Located close to the Anjou slate basins, DIRICKX starts manufacturing tile hooks.
DIRICKX supplies the British army with substantial tonnages of Chainlink fence.
1949
To meet the growing demand, a new 2,500m² plant is set up in Renazé.
1964
Production continues to grow and exceeds 7,000 tonnes.
1965
Building works for a vast 15,000m² production unit are completed in Renazé.
The international context is marked by the wars in Indochina
(1945-1954) and Algeria (1954-1962). DIRICKX is asked by the French army, to produce tonnes of barbed wire.
1966
Albert DIRICKX, son of Armand Dirickx, takes over the running of the company with his brother,
Fernand DIRICKX.
1968
Launch of Vercors® fencing and FAPEX® posts.
Installation of an automatic galvanising line for
tile hooks and FAPEX® posts.
1970
The production plant covers 24,000 m².
1971
Introduction of a High Adherence plastic-coating line,
the largest on the European market for DT Plast wire.
The technique is adapted for welded mesh fencing in rolls and panels.
1973
Armand DIRCKX, the company's founder, dies.
1975
DIRICKX builds new administrative buildings next to the plant.
1981
DIRICKX buys the company OPPIDUM with its exclusive profile design and extends its gate range.
